Blended Learning

Our Training Methodology

Destiny Village Online Institute training methodology and approach to transferring knowledge is constantly reviewed and updated. We ensure that we bring the most up to date teaching methods and techniques to our courses.
We strongly believe that actively engaged participants will absorb and retain knowledge far more successfully than those who attend lecture style courses. Where material is contextualised and relevant to the participants’ own experiences, understanding is significantly improved.

Learning is designed and delivered to meet the needs of the learners. To ensure that we meet this objective, we adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Our methodology is benchmarked against industry best practice and guidelines.
  • Learning delivery is planned to encourage learner participation through structured facilitation sessions.
  • Learners are given regular and on-going feedback regarding their progress.
  • The Achievement Plan is structured to allow sufficient time between facilitation, assessments, and examination sessions.
  • Learning experiences include a variety of methods, approaches and options that enable learners with different learning styles to achieve a greater success rate.
  • Learners are provided with clear learning outcomes for each Module.
  • Learning delivery is done according to notional hours.  For example, if a qualification consists of 36 credits, this is equivalent to 3600 notional hours of learning, which include contact sessions, workplace learning, research and the completion of assessments.

Our training programmes are designed to provide participants with an active and relevant learning experience. Our resources and methodologies include:

  • The use of technical and subject matter experts
  • Webinars
  • Relevant and concise course material for each participant
  • Elearning
  • Interactive group exercises and discussions
Mentoring – one to one and group
  • Participant led presentations
    For our professional qualification courses;
  • progress tests, mock exams, and personalised feedback for each student
  • Customised case studies, business simulations and role plays

Instructor LED Training

This type of training is facilitated by an instructor either online with the use of Course prescribed software such as logical operations or cremaster or in a classroom setting over 8 hours a day. Instructor-led training allows for learners and instructors or facilitators to interact and discuss the training material, either individually or in a group setting.

Blended Learning

Blended learning incorporates both a traditional classroom setting and an e-learning environment, typically with a larger focus on the use of technology. There can be a variety of settings or delivery methods with blended, or hybrid, learning, each dependent upon the learners and instructors involved.
With our blended learning solution the candidates are able to login into our web portals from any internet enabled device and thus learning does not stop simple because they are not in the class room

Computer-Based Training (CBT)

Computer-Based Training (CBT) involves the use of a personal or networked computer for the delivery and access of training programs. CBT can be synchronous and asynchronous, as well as online, web-based, mobile, and distance learning. CBT is particularly useful when training learners on a specific computer application, but can also be built to train learners on general knowledge or skills. The greatest disadvantage of CBT is that it is expensive to develop and deliver, especially for smaller groups of students. CBT can be more cost efficient when designed to train a larger number of students.

Practical’s, simulations and work based training

Destiny Village Online Institute utilises practical’s, simulations and work based training as per of its course offerings to ensure that candidates are equipped for real world application of learning.
Various computer based simulations together with practical application of learning taken on equipment provided in class ensures that learning is retained and all technical skills can be applied by the candidates.
Were applicable candidates are placed in work environments as interns to further enhance the technical skills acquired in the classroom environment.
